This policy explains what data the King Me app collects, what it is used for, who it is shared with and how you can control it. It describes what the app actually does, rather than covering generic scenarios.

1. Who is responsible

Data controller: Jose Antonio Guerrero Avilés, independent developer of the King Me app, publishing under the trade name AGApps Studio.

For anything related to your data, including exercising the rights described in section 8, write to agapps.studio@gmail.com. We answer requests through this channel within the one-month deadline set by the GDPR.

2. What we collect

King Me never asks for your real name, your address or your phone number. This is everything the app handles:

Data Where it comes from Why
Account identifier Firebase Authentication, when you sign in with Google or as a guest Identifying your account and attaching your progress to it
Email address and name from your Google account Your Google account, if you choose to sign in instead of playing as a guest Creating and recovering your account. It is never shown to other players and never used to send you marketing email
Player name You choose it when you start Showing you on the rankings and in friend lists
Friend code Generated by the server when your account is created, at random and in a short format such as KM-4XH8-Q2P. You do not choose it and it does not change Letting someone add you as a friend without searching for you by name
Country Derived from the language and region set on your device Placing you in your country's ranking and giving you its flag, which you can change from your profile. The daily maze is the same one for the whole world, so your country does not decide which maze you play. We never use GPS or precise location
Profile photo Your Google account, which serves it from its own servers. The app does not host any image Showing it on your profile and in friend lists, only if you choose to display it: it is hidden by default and you can change that at any time
Run results: time, the path your finger traced through the maze, and attempts used Generated as you play Working out your position, building the rankings, enabling run comparison («ghosts») and detecting cheating
Historical stats and reigns Accumulated from your results The historical ranking and your profile
Friendships and friend requests You create them Your friends list and their rankings
Purchases: transaction identifier, product and platform Google Play, when you buy something Activating what you bought and making sure it is never granted twice. We never see or store your card or payment details: the store handles those entirely
App preferences The settings you choose Restoring your configuration when you switch devices
Device notification identifier Firebase Cloud Messaging, if you agree to receive notifications Sending you only the alerts you switched on in Settings
The app version you have installed The app reads it from your phone when it starts Knowing how many people are still on an old version, telling you to update when a version can no longer play, and understanding which version a bug happens on
Security and rate-limiting logs Generated when a result or a request fails validation Protecting the competition against cheating and abuse
Advertising identifier and related data Google AdMob, while you see ads Showing the ads that keep the game running. See section 5

Apart from advertising and notifications, which depend on your consent, the rest of this data is needed to play: without an account there is no progress, no ranking and no run comparison.

3. What other players can see

King Me is a competitive game, and some of your information is public by design. Any player can see: your player name, the flag of the country you choose to display, your profile photo (only if you choose to display it; it is hidden by default), your game statistics, your ranking position, and the path of your runs when someone compares their run against yours.

Your game statistics and ranking position cannot be hidden: they are the basis of the competition. Your email address, your account identifier and your friend code are never visible to other players.

4. Legal basis

5. Advertising

King Me shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve them, Google may process your device's advertising identifier and other data under its own policy, available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app will ask for your consent before showing personalised advertising, and you will be able to change that decision later. You can remove ads entirely through the corresponding purchase in the in-game store.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to third parties for their own commercial purposes. We rely on these providers, which process data on our behalf:

Game data (your profile, your results, your friendships and your preferences) is stored in Google data centres located in Belgium: it does not leave the European Economic Area.

Advertising and authentication may involve processing by Google outside the EEA. Google covers those transfers with the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

7. How long we keep it

8. Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability at any time by writing to agapps.studio@gmail.com.

Two of them are available directly in the app, with no need to write to us:

If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or with your local supervisory authority.

9. Children

King Me is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone below that age. If we find such an account, we will delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe one exists, write to agapps.studio@gmail.com.

10. Automated decisions

To keep the competition fair, the server automatically checks every run and may invalidate a result that does not pass those checks, with no person involved. That decision affects your standing in the game and has no legal or financial consequences for you. If you believe one of your results was invalidated by mistake, write to agapps.studio@gmail.com and we will review it by hand.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date in the header and, when the change is significant, tell you inside the app. This page always holds the version in force.
